OLD FASHIONED? TRY THIS

Hi friends,
It been a while since my last post, I apologise, I was caught up with assignment of weightier importance.I am so encouraged by your mails and comments and for my friends who had difficulty uploading comments,We are working on how we can make it more user friendly, thank you all the same.
well today I will like to discuss the new habit I am cultivating  and how it has turned out for me to be great! .since this blog is about helping you be the best you can as a lady, I will like to share the things I have done to add to femininity lately. We all are working on ourselves everyday to be the best we can, doing this  could be just being more deliberate about our normal routine.
For me I choose the aspect of putting order on my face (make-up).This might not be applicable to every one but this is my point.
1. Learn the latest way of doing what you do:This principle is powerful and can be applied universally.I noticed some ladies are just old fashioned not because they want to be,  but for the fact that they are so engrossed with the routine of doing it same way they liked the first time.common look around no one is wearing a rubber band on her hair any more or using a black liner on the lips, pardon me if you can't relate with that. I know fashion in itself is all about style and new innovations but its also got trends.
I have been to quite alot of gatherings lately, Ladies hangout, church meetings, and even shopping malls and one major thing have heard friends say to me is "you look real good" thats a normal complement yeah but how about this part " I love the shade of your lipstick or your face is really on point" have you become a make-up artist?... No not on commercial level.I just found out the ideal thing for every woman is to become a makeup artist primarily for yourself.
SO what did I do differently?
1. I took collections of the faces I admire from models to TV stars

2. I appraised my present make up style

3.Then I took online tutorial on how to perfect my make up flaws. I concentrate more on my flaws. face highlight, contour, eye brown shaping and blending, use of blush.and how to use the makeup tools perfectly.

4. And of course I purchased new makeup product, powder, concealer, foundation, eye shadows and others.
This doesn't mean I wear heavy make ups but even in my simplicity there is style.
For friends who wants to take up the challenge and upgrade yourself,Well am yet to make videos but you can get quite a lot of helpful tutorials on the internet. I could send you links if you want.
Thanks for keeping update with Zoe feminine lifestyle.

HOW TO INCREASE YOUR SELF-ESTEEM

Hi ladies,
I am glad you are beginning to enjoy a more feminine lifestyle. It is usually not the norm for me to get  personal on this blog, it is necessary today because of the importance of the topic am about to unveil to our femininity.
One of the things I have noticed about women is the fact that we love to keep it simple and may be say words like don't worry, nothing, am fine or never mind,no don't bother,I can go on listing the usual things we say to cover up for the things we really should say but we  bottle them up within us and sometimes these things goes a long way making us depressed or unhappy.I don't want to be myopic about this discussion, honestly it is as complex as our nature so what am going to do is talk about the very obvious I have noticed and maybe talk from personal experience. So here is the thing, lets talk about self esteem,  how it affects our femininity and see factors that affect our esteem as individual and collectively as females.

what is self esteem?

We all have a mental picture of who we are, how we look, what

we're good at, and what our weaknesses might be. We develop this
picture over time, starting when we're very young. The term self-
image is used to refer to a person's mental picture of himself or
herself. A lot of our self-image is based on interactions we have
with other people and our life experiences. This mental picture (our
self-image) contributes to our self-esteem
you might want to ask

why self esteem attracts  this much attention?

 1. Self esteem is quite important because it is about your self image and about your femininity, Let me digg this further,it is about the way you make people perceive you as a lady, most ladies feel guys dont stick around them for long i can bet often times it is because they could not perceive your good  self esteem, this is so powerful because it works like magic, the way you see yourself will determine the way people sees you. If you were to be the guy would you love you if you know all you feel about yourself?

People with healthy self-esteem are able to feel good about themselves, appreciate their own worth, and take pride in their abilities, skills, and accomplishments. People with low self-esteem may feel as if no one will like them or accept them or that they can't do well in anything.
We all experience problems with self-esteem at certain times in our lives — especially during our teens when we're figuring out who we are and where we fit in the world. The good news is that, because
everyone's self-image changes over time, self-esteem is not fixed for life. So if you feel that your self-esteem isn't all it could be, you
can improve it and that is the good news.

Let's take a look at Two factors that may affect Our self esteem.

1.Our Immediate Environment: The people we were surrounded with while growing  up plays  significant role in forming our self esteem. For instance if you were brought up by parents who critized or found faults easily in you, then you are likely to have a low self esteem than someone whose parent praised and displayed affection.
Research has it that promiscuous women are likely to have a low self image and also higher percentage of such women does not have a cordial relationship with there parents especially father while growing up.

2. Inner voices:Another factor for low self esteem is the voices we listen to from within reminding us of our past failures how we are not a likeable persons.echoe of words we have heard people say to us, like I hate you! You disgust me!,you are too fat!

Hey! what is wrong with being fat? That is not so much of a problem in Africa though, African men says a fat woman reveals her husband's wealth, that is the richer you are as a man the fatter your wife. That is not true and its by the way. I do not subscribe to a careless lifestyle but after you have done all you need to do to slim down and you could not reduce your size then you need to build up some good self esteem in that line and make people who tries to make you feel bad about your looks end  up accepting you.Or even from our experiences maybe you are a single mom at teen age

or was raped or molested and you feel you have a lot to hide when people come close to find out they ain't going to love you anymore  you go on avoiding people, you can't even talk to people because of the shame of all there is about you.
At this point am passionate because I was a victim of some sort and am going to give you practical steps.

1. First of all allow yourself to be healed of whatever hurt it is from the past and don't live in unforgiveness.God healed me of my past so I recommend you talk to Him.

2. Identify few reasons why you feel your self image is poor. You can listen to that negative voice one last time just to identify the things that has shaped your self image

3.You need to move in the opposite direction of those words.I subscribe you write out some positive words about yourself and say then to yourself in the mirror every time.e.g I am likeable,I have a sweet personality, am beautiful etc.Because your words tend to stick more than what you heard others say.

4.Self acceptance: in cases of low esteem based on your experiences, now is the time to trully believe there is no big deal.don't hide anymore, try to tell one or two people about your ugly past and make sure you move on, this might be a little bit difficult but trust me it leads to  a major break through, when someone confronts you with your past receive it with excitement they are gonna feel suprises but play on and watch them accept you the way you have accepted your past.

5. Take every opportunity to do the things you have never done before, like public speaking or maybe you feel left out approach those ladies you have always tremble within you when you see them for all I know they might not be better than you are, maybe their walls isn't as thick as you think. Learn to be bold maintaining eye contact.

6.Keep doing it don't stop till you own it.Consistency and being deliberate will break you free from low self esteem.

So you see my dear life is what you get from it!.Use this message as it applies to you.I really appreciate your time please do share this article by clicking share on Facebook and also click on the RSS for update.Till next time we post  ... keep being ontop of your games.

1.Cultivate the habit of giving thanks: it helps you see the good going on in your life and even see the bad from a good perspective.

2.Take every chances of newess: make sure something changes continually around you and you do things differently, having a boring lifestyle can make you depressed.so go for vacation, site seeing, shopping ,do what makes you happy, for me i could just go for dance class at my leisure.

3.Have the right company: dont be isolated, relate with people, make friends, communicate!.Don't also forget to avoid the "kill joy".

5.Be kind to people: in as much as you shouldn't neglect yourself helping people you should also know that certain fulfilment comes from putting smiles on other peoples faces and dedication to humanity brings great joy.

I hope you love this, help other women get over depression kindly share this and be kind enough to place a comment.

FEELING BLUE? IT COULD BE DEPRESSION.

WHAT IS DEPRESSION?

Everyone occasionally feels blue or sad, but these feelings are
usually fleeting and pass within a couple of days. When a woman
has a depressive disorder, it interferes with daily life and normal
functioning, and causes pain for both the woman with the disorder
and those who care about her. Depression is a common but serious
illness, and most who have it need treatment to get better.
Depression affects both men and women, but more women than
men are likely to be diagnosed with depression in any given year.
Efforts to explain this difference are ongoing, as researchers explore
certain factors (biological, social, etc.) that are unique to women.
Many women with a depressive illness never seek treatment. But
the vast majority, even those with the most severe depression, can
get better with treatment.

Are you a woman that feels like you might be experiencing a mid-life
crisis? Have your typical monthly issues become a typical and
out of whack? Hormones and depression are so very closely
related, and they are two ticking time bombs. If not stopped,
they will cause a massive explosion in your emotions, mind,
and even your body. Some people become very ill or even
seriously diseased, and don't know why .
Depression may occur at
any age during a woman's life with certain events like puberty,
pregnancy, perimenopause, trauma, substance abuse and quality of
relationships increasing the risk, according to the leading authorities
on the etiologies and treatments for depression.

Furthermore, depression can occur among women from all
educational, economic and racial and ethnic groups and it consequences can include an increased risk of suicide, morbidity
from medical illness and risk for poor self-care and reduced
adherence to medical regimes. World Health Organization Report
examining "The Global Burden of Disease" found that "depression
presents the greatest disease burden for women when compared
with other diseases."

Some of the findings that examine the possible culprits of
depression are:
Genetic Factors: Based on data that major depression clusters in
families, having a first-degree relative with depression (parent,
sibling) is a risk factor for depression.

Sex Hormones: The link between increased rates of depression
and puberty, mood and the menstrual cycle as well as mood and
pregnancy suggests a role of gonadal hormones in depression.Specifically, changes in gonadal hormones, disturbances in the
hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis and attendant effects on
neuromodulators (e.g. serotonin) may all be key mechanisms in the
initiation of depression. For example, pregnancy and delivery
produce dramatic changes in estrogen and progesterone levels, as
well as changes in the HPG axis, that may underlie postpartum
depression.

Life Stress and Trauma: Case-control and community-based
studies have shown that more than 80 percent of major depression
cases were preceded by a serious adverse life event. Traumatic
events, such as childhood sexual abuse, adult sexual assault, male
partner violence and physical illness also can lead to depression.
Initial research has suggested that early trauma has a greater
impact on risk for depression than later occurring trauma. Research
has also indicated that women may be more likely than men to
experience depression in response to a stressful event.

Interpersonal Relationships and Cognitive Styles: One cognitive
style more common in women than men that increases the risk for
depression is ruminative thinking - repetitively and passively
focusing on symptoms of distress and their possible causes and
consequences. Ruminative thinking is also associated with longer
and more severe episodes of depression.

Possible signs and symptoms are as follows:
Irritability
Apathy
Abnormal Sleep Patterns
Fatigue
Indecisiveness
Suicidal Thoughts

When treating hormonal depression , it is also important to go
beyond normal testing and basic research. You must make
sure you address every possibility. Don't get so busy that you
forget to take care of yourself. If you are constantly helping
others to the point of self-destruction, then you are
neglecting yourself. You must assess and respond to all of the
following areas:
Physical
Spiritual
Emotional.
Of course there are lots of medication for depression especially the use of antidepressants,But i suggest you try out some other natural treatment because of antidepressants side effect which includes headaches, nausea, loss of appetite, low sex active and so on. Here are some
Helpful tip to get over depression

* watching your diet and avoid certain food that you may have noticed to wreak havoc on your body.

*exercising your body is a very effective way to shake off fatigue both physically and in the mind.it raises endorphins, which are natural pain endorphins.and can heal your hormonal inbalance.

*eat chocolates:hormones can play a part in your depression,
and if your body has the proper balance of these hormones,
you will not have problems in different areas that they have
control over. Estrogen hormone boosts serotonin, just like chocolate does. That is why chocolate can lift depression off of you. It also helps to promote sound sleep. It also raises endorphins just like exercise does, which are natural pain relievers.

*Talking to a counselor or a therapist:Is a better and easy way to get things off your mind. You do not have to go through your dark times alone, get good people to share your burdens with, share experiences that could help you get through life easily. Cortisol is the stress hormone. If you allow yourself to have too much stress by not getting things off of your mind , then your body will automatically release more cortisol, which will cause unwanted weight gain.

Always remember that every area
of our bodies is interconnected, and you must pay attention to
every area in order to be complete.

I hope you love this kindly share to help other women get over depression.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BREAST CANCER

You will agree with me that Cancer is a major topic on health headlines today because of it cruel grasp on both men and women, it a major disease that combat with the female gender while alot has lost their lives to it many are fighting for survivor and quite a number have been totally cured of cancer.
Cancer is ultimately the result of cells that uncontrollably grow and
do not die. Normal cells in the body follow an orderly path of
growth, division, and death. Programmed cell death is called
apoptosis, and when this process breaks down, cancer begins to
form. Unlike regular cells, cancer cells do not experience
programmatic death and instead continue to grow and divide. This
leads to a mass of abnormal cells that grows out of control, there are over 100 cancers and they are classified by the type of cell that is initially affected.Among other types of cancer this article is to create awareness about breast cancer in women.
Images of breast cancer spread or growth

A study made headlines reporting that walking an hour a

day reduces the chances of breast cancer.
Published in Cancer Epidemiology,
Biomarkers, and Prevention and sponsored
by the American Cancer Society, the study
found an inverse association between
exercise and breast cancer in post-
menopausal women. Meaning the more
physically active a woman was, the lower
her breast cancer risk.A
Moderate physical activity reduced breast
cancer risk by 14 percent, while “vigorous”
physical activity (bicycling, jogging, aerobics
etc in addition to walking) reduced breast
cancer risk even more – by 25 percent.
The research came on the heels of another study published in
May in the same journal, this time involving younger women,
which found that exercise affects the way women’s bodies
handle estrogen.
Both studies show something important: We aren’t powerless
over breast cancer. Yes, it happens, and yes it’s scary. But
there are things we can do now that can protect ourselves. The
first one, of course, is exercise, as often and as much as you
can make time for. Here are 5 more things you can do that
research shows lower breast cancer risk.
1. Drop Those Extra Pounds
Sorry, no one wants to hear this one, but the evidence is pretty
strong. There are lots of studies, and lots of ways to quantify it,
but in a nutshell, according to the Surgeon General, gaining
more than 20 pounds between age 18 and midlife double their
risk of postmenopausal breast cancer.
One cancer researcher, Anne McTiernan of the Fred
Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, says that a
quarter of all breast cancer cases could be prevented by
women achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. The
simplest explanation: estrogen is stored in fat tissue, and extra
estrogen raises breast cancer risk.

2. Put Away the Wine Bottle
If your evening ritual glass of wine is
typically more like two or three glasses, take
note. Studies have shown that drinking two
or more alcoholic drinks a day raises your
risk of breast cancer by at least 20 percent.
(I say “at least” because there are many
different studies, done in many different
ways, but a 20 percent risk elevation is one
of the more conservative.) The American
Cancer Society now recommends that
women limit alcohol to one serving or less a
day.
And the amount in a “serving” of alcohol is a
lot less than you probably think it is; just 5 ounces of wine or
12 ounces of beer. Scientists believe the reason for this is that
alcohol changes the way your body metabolizes estrogen,
elevating estrogen levels.
The risk also seems to go up the younger you are when you
incorporate the drinking ritual. A new study out last month
found that women who were regular imbibers prior to their
first pregnancy had a higher incidence of breast abnormalities
associated with later cancer development.

3. Know Your Breast Tissue Density
Hopefully, you’ve heard by now that having dense breast tissue
raises your risk of breast cancer. But here’s the more
important issue: Do you know whether you fall in this
category? Breast tissue varies greatly in how dense it is, which
means that it has more fibrous and glandular tissue and less
fat.
If you don’t know where you fall on the spectrum, talk to your
doctor and find out. (Or ask during your next mammogram.)
It’s important, because if you fall into the 66 percent of pre-
menopausal women (and 25 percent of post-menopausal
women) who have dense breast tissue, an annual mammogram
may not be enough for you to monitor your breast health.

HOW TO DRESS WELL

Dress sense is a critical aspect of every woman's life, since we are naturally endowed with beauty we must be deliberate to give our beauty a complimenting outfit, else we could be wrongly addressed.
Having a great dress senses entails deliberate acts which I will like to share with you.
Women basically are in the habit of keeping a full wardrobe full of clothes we do not need. You will agree with me that we all have preference for our certain clothes.

Here are some steps to having a dress sense

1. Get your wardrobe sorted if it looking too filled with out-grown, out-dated or seasonal wears.

2. Find out what's new about your fashion/ style. if you are a casual person find out the cut or shape of the latest jean and how it been worn e.g boot cut, pencil jean, leggings,t- shirt new colour mix etc.

3. Plan your next shopping, make a list of your "wanna buy" and find out where you can get them.you can try some online boutiques.resist the temptation to get all your stuff in same store it could be disadvantageous. try different stores compare prizes and qualities.you also do not have to go for common stuffs try to be unique.
Note: when you are choosing your stuffs consider your existing wardrobe.for instance when you are picking a denim consider the colour of the tops in your wardrobe.alternate your plain and pattern choices.when you choose a plain top choose a pattern denim or skirt or plain top and trouser their colours compliment each other.Pick the right undies for your wears.

4. Get the right foot wears, your clothes will determine your footwear.Trainers pumps, hills, platform, sandals are to be worn differently.

5. Do not forget to get lots of accessories, it plays a major role on how your look and enhances your beauty when properly combined.

6. Plan your outfit ahead of your appointment.you need a simple math here and you need to be creative with your combinations.flowery on plain, red on blue, cream on brown.Three to four colours in one outfit isn't bad but make sure four does it.
Warning:  Wearing all red could be a turn off, wear a touch of red instead.
7.WEAR YOUR CONFIDENCE.

I do hope you find this interesting let me know if you need some more help.Eze 16:10-14
